Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck HOTAS Adds a Touchscreen Display to Put Over a Hundred Functions on Your Flight Sim Controller

When it comes to flight sim controllers, we’re very fond of systems that put a plethora of controls within your reach, as it makes it easy to perform every function directly on the device, instead of having to constantly switch between them and your mouse-and-keyboard setup. Since you can only cram so many buttons, knobs, and switches into a stick and throttle controller, the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck HOTAS uses a touchscreen panel offer a nearly endless selection of virtual controls.

That’s right, this controller for flight and space sims includes a touchscreen display that can be customized with numerous programmable controls, so you can get access to all the flight deck controls that would otherwise not fit into the throttle and stick modules. No need to incorporate the PC keyboard in your gameplay, since you can now put every single control directly on your HOTAS peripheral.

The Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck HOTAS consists of separate stick and throttle modules, which should make it easy to position them in the most ergonomic configuration during your flight sim adventures. The joystick module has a height-adjustable flight stick, along with a number of other tactile controls, including knobs, switches, wheels, buttons, and even a lever, as well as a unique digital HUD on top of the stick that can show diagnostics and adjustment recommendations in real-time, making the flight stick a whole lot more useful.

The throttle, on the other hand, also gets its own set of tactile controls, such as knobs, buttons, and more, along with a large touchscreen display that really sets it apart from many other flight deck sims out there. The touchscreen comes with pre-made screens that you can cycle through with a tap, giving you a total of 39 programmable virtual controls, so you can assign any functions you want to each of the screens. Between its physical and virtual appointments, it apparently offers a total of 139 programmable functions.

The Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck HOTAS uses hall-effect sensors to ensure precise function and durable performance, ensuring you can use it to explore skies, galaxies, and everywhere else your flying vessels will take you. According to the outfit, they based the controller’s design on both spacecrafts and modern jet fighters, which should be pretty cool. As usual, it comes with a full set of RGB lighting, so you can make it glow, blink, and show off a variety of light effects, as well as Turtle Beach’s audio enhancements (same thing found in their Recon gamepad), although you’ll have to plug in to the throttle module’s 3.5mm port. It comes with rubber feet to keep it from slipping on a desk, although it also has pre-built mounting holes for screwing it down a table surface if you want a proper cockpit setup.

The controller runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, with each module (stick and throttle) requiring their own separate USB connection. To get the most out of the controller, you should customize the control mapping using the downloadable Flight Hangar app, where you can also update the firmware and control the RGB LEDs.
